Mariachi Del Sol

Outstanding Mexican music ensemble delivers authentic flavour of Mexico complete with traditional mariachi costumes.

Treat your self to an exciting blend of stunning vocals, Latin guitars, shimmering strings and sparkling brass. The Mariachi Del Sol is one of Canada's outstanding Mexican Music ensembles. Octavio Carrillo formed the band in 1987. It blends the traditional sounds of Mexico, from the soft romantic ballads to lively ranchero songs.

Mariachi Del Sol delivers the authentic flavour of Mexico. The players wear traditional Gala Charro costumes, complete with over one hundred real silver ornaments, costumes that identify them as professional Mariachi musicians of very serious repute. Since its formation Mariachi Del Sol has performed an impressive number of private and public functions in Canada and the United States, including engagements for the Mexican government and it’s tourism board. Normally performing as a small group (three to six people), the full size Mariachi Del Sol can be ten musicians or more.

Mariachi Del Sol will be representing Canada again in the 11th International Mariachi Festival in September 2004 in Guadalajara City, Mexico. Also, as part of the Mariachi - The Spirit of Mexico Tour, in September 2004, Mariachi Del Sol will be the main performer at the Mexican Independence Day Celebration to be held at the Plaza of Nations in Vancouver.

Additionally, Mariachi Del Sol will join one of the top Mariachi bands in the world, Mariachi of the Americas, and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver. Mariachi Del Sol will also join the Seattle Symphony Orchestra and Mariachi of the Americas at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle, WA.

Coming Up:

September 2004 Mariachi – The Spirit of Mexico (with Mariachi of the Americas and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra), Vancouver.
